Missa Solemnis – Beethoven – CANCELLED

£1 – £20

Missa Solemnis – Beethoven

Our next scheduled concert is a performance of Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis, ‘one of the greatest master works in the realm of music’.

2020 marks the 250th anniversary of Beethoven’s birth. His Missa Solemnis was written, alongside his ninth symphony, towards the end of his life between 1819 and 1823, and was first performed in 1824.

Leicestershire Chorale is thrilled to be returning to one of Leicester’s most beautiful venues, St James The Greater for this major concert. We will be joined by the Loughborough based chamber choir Viva La Musica, and other singers to make a 100 strong choir.

We are delighted to welcome our soloists:

Soprano – Maureen Brathwaite

Mezzo Soprano –  Catherine Griffiths

Tenor – Andrew Kennedy

Bass – Nicholas Warden

We are also excited to be working  for the first time, with the Lincolnshire Chamber Orchestra, which since its founding in 2002, is now a fully professional orchestra performing around the county and beyond supporting local choral groups.

Ticket prices are: £20, £16 (Friends and Concession) and £1 (U19). They can be obtained by emailing tickets@leicestershirechorale.org.uk
