What a fabulous evening!
After two years of nothing and a definite change in the way the world works, we were thrilled with our first Chorale Fundraiser since 2019.
Our new-format Fundraiser was a huge success and everyone had the most delightful evening. We began with a ‘Royal’ concert in the beautiful church behind us, including two excellent solos from our current Choral Scholars, and then after fizz on the Village Hall lawn, sat down to enjoy a delicious buffet supper with friends, supporters and Chorale members.
We would like to hugely thank everyone who came to support us and raise funds to continue our highly successful Choral Scholarships and our work.
Watch out for next year’s event – even bigger and better we hope!
On Saturday July 3 2021, members of Leicestershire Chorale were delighted to sing to a specially invited ‘live’ audience in this stunning venue. A sold out audience heard a wide range of music sung by sextets made up exclusively of members of the choir. The theme of the concert was ‘See Nature Rejoicing’ and it culminated in two whole choir performances with choir members located inside and outside the church. Thankfully the rain held off until the end of the concert.
To commence Holy Week our very own Musical Director Tom Williams and Leicester Cathedral’s Director of Music, Chris Ouvry-Johns perform Vivaldi’s Stabat Mater. Tickets are free on Eventbrite but donations welcome.
